# Mentalist Detective vs The Final Node

The clearest difference is update cadence: The Final Node at every 5 days against Mentalist Detective's fortnightly. The Final Node also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mentalist Detective sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and The Final Node sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mentalist Detective ships an update fortnightly, The Final Node every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
