# EvidCapture vs BlackOut

The clearest difference is update cadence: BlackOut at every 3 days against EvidCapture's every 3 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EvidCapture sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and BlackOut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EvidCapture ships an update every 3 weeks, BlackOut every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
