# SurfLab vs Takeoff

The clearest difference is ads: Takeoff at none against SurfLab's shown. SurfLab's advantage is device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SurfLab sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Takeoff sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SurfLab ships an update weekly, Takeoff every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
