# Crimson Map vs Skyllector

Crimson Map and Skyllector both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Skyllector's written reviews are positive against 22% of Crimson Map's. Crimson Map's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (294 vs 6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crimson Map sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months and Skyllector sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Crimson Map against 4.5 for Skyllector. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crimson Map has 294 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 22% of Crimson Map's written reviews are positive against 100% of Skyllector's.

Crimson Map ships an update every 3 days, Skyllector every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
