# Tomo vs NPTE Practice Test

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tomo at every 8 days against NPTE Practice Test's every 3 months. Tomo also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (31 vs 1). NPTE Practice Test's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tomo sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and NPTE Practice Test sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NPTE Practice Test holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tomo has 31 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tomo ships an update every 8 days, NPTE Practice Test every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
