# Obsidian Vault vs Lockbox

The clearest difference is update cadence: Obsidian Vault at every 5 weeks against Lockbox's every 3 months. Lockbox's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Obsidian Vault sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Lockbox sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
