# FloatyDo vs Platen

The clearest difference is update cadence: Platen at every 2 days against FloatyDo's every 2 weeks. Platen also leads on review sentiment (96% vs 83%) and ratings volume (23 vs 3). FloatyDo's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FloatyDo sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Platen sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FloatyDo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Platen has 23 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of FloatyDo's written reviews are positive against 96% of Platen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FloatyDo ships an update every 2 weeks, Platen every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
