# Prowl vs Flock

The clearest difference is device support: Flock at 4 against Prowl's 2. Flock also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prowl sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Flock sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Prowl ships an update every 2 days, Flock every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
