# Scanly vs Privascan

The clearest difference is update cadence: Scanly at fortnightly against Privascan's monthly. Scanly also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scanly sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Privascan sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scanly ships an update fortnightly, Privascan monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
