# Sentinel vs Secure Wi

The clearest difference is ads: Secure Wi at none against Sentinel's shown. Sentinel's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sentinel sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Secure Wi sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sentinel ships an update every 4 weeks, Secure Wi every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
