# SYNC vs Flock

The clearest difference is monetization model: SYNC at free against Flock's free with in-app purchases. Flock's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SYNC sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Flock sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for SYNC against 5.0 for Flock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flock has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SYNC ships an update every 3 weeks, Flock every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
