# Writer for Markdown vs Sentinote

The clearest difference is update cadence: Sentinote at every 2 days against Writer for Markdown's monthly. Sentinote also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Writer for Markdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Sentinote sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Writer for Markdown ships an update monthly, Sentinote every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
