# Lumen vs Scroll Scripture

Lumen and Scroll Scripture both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Lumen's written reviews are positive against 60% of Scroll Scripture's. Lumen also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (3 vs 1). Scroll Scripture's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 11). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lumen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Scroll Scripture sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lumen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scroll Scripture has 1.1K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Lumen's written reviews are positive against 60% of Scroll Scripture's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
