# EmoNew vs Permit Prep

The clearest difference is update cadence: Permit Prep at every 2 weeks against EmoNew's every 3 months. EmoNew's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EmoNew sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Permit Prep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EmoNew ships an update every 3 months, Permit Prep every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
