# Nearing vs Countdown

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Countdown at none against Nearing's 1. Countdown also leads on iOS requirement (18.2 vs 26.0). Nearing's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nearing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Countdown asks for nothing beyond the download.

Nearing ships an update every 2 days, Countdown every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
