# Tempo vs Beat Scribe

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tempo at every 5 days against Beat Scribe's every 11 days. Tempo also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tempo sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per year and Beat Scribe sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tempo ships an update every 5 days, Beat Scribe every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
