# chasinglight vs Golden Hour

The clearest difference is monetization model: Golden Hour at free against chasinglight's free with in-app purchases. chasinglight's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. chasinglight sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Golden Hour sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

chasinglight ships an update every 5 days, Golden Hour every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
