The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Metron Comics at none against Phroller's 1. Phroller's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Phroller sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Metron Comics asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Phroller against 5.0 for Metron Comics. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Phroller has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
