# Secure VPN vs V2 VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Secure VPN at 5.0 against V2 VPN's 4.4. Secure VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). V2 VPN's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and ratings volume (28 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and V2 VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secure VPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: V2 VPN has 28 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Secure VPN ships an update weekly, V2 VPN every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
