# Hokd vs Ascend

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ascend at every 3 days against Hokd's every 3 weeks. Hokd's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hokd sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Ascend sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hokd ships an update every 3 weeks, Ascend every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
