# Kite vs Jotdown

The clearest difference is ads: Jotdown at none against Kite's shown. Kite's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kite sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Jotdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
