# Kite vs MindPen

The clearest difference is ads: MindPen at none against Kite's shown. MindPen also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kite sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and MindPen sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kite ships an update weekly, MindPen every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
