# Idle Exploration vs Idle Rune Foundry

The clearest difference is rating: Idle Rune Foundry at 5.0 against Idle Exploration's 4.3. Idle Rune Foundry also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 weeks). Idle Exploration's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1) and device support. On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Idle Exploration sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Idle Rune Foundry sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Idle Rune Foundry holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Idle Exploration has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Idle Exploration ships an update every 3 weeks, Idle Rune Foundry every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
