# Dimmly vs ShotMark

The clearest difference is monetization model: Dimmly at free against ShotMark's free with in-app purchases. Dimmly also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dimmly sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and ShotMark sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dimmly holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 7 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Dimmly ships an update every 5 days, ShotMark every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
