# Letterly vs Cursive Practice

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Letterly at 100% against Cursive Practice's 0%. Letterly also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (4 vs 1). Cursive Practice's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Letterly sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Cursive Practice sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cursive Practice holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Letterly's written reviews are positive against 0% of Cursive Practice's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Letterly ships an update every 6 weeks, Cursive Practice monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
