# ScriptPad vs HeyWrite

The clearest difference is review sentiment: HeyWrite at 100% against ScriptPad's 50%. HeyWrite also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). ScriptPad's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScriptPad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and HeyWrite sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScriptPad ships an update every 3 weeks, HeyWrite every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
