# Writing App vs Glit

The clearest difference is update cadence: Writing App at every 3 days against Glit's every 2 weeks. Writing App also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Writing App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Glit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Writing App ships an update every 3 days, Glit every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
