# Hex by Hex vs Sumward

The clearest difference is update cadence: Sumward at every 3 weeks against Hex by Hex's every 3 months. Sumward also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hex by Hex sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sumward sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hex by Hex ships an update every 3 months, Sumward every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
