# Smilo vs Aligner Timer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Aligner Timer at 100% against Smilo's 38%. Aligner Timer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6). Smilo's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (46 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smilo sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Aligner Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Smilo holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smilo has 46 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Smilo's written reviews are positive against 100% of Aligner Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
