# WorkBuddy vs iCodex

The clearest difference is review sentiment: iCodex at 100% against WorkBuddy's 36%. iCodex also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.3). WorkBuddy's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (15 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WorkBuddy sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and iCodex sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iCodex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WorkBuddy has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 36% of WorkBuddy's written reviews are positive against 100% of iCodex's.

WorkBuddy ships an update weekly, iCodex every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
