# PetRecs vs Hark Pro

The clearest difference is monetization model: PetRecs at free against Hark Pro's free with in-app purchases. PetRecs also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Hark Pro's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 2) and chart position (#141 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PetRecs sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Hark Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $26.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PetRecs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hark Pro has 1.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PetRecs ships an update every 3 days, Hark Pro every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
