# BlockRot vs Focus Cat

The clearest difference is rating: BlockRot at 4.7 against Focus Cat's 4.0. BlockRot also leads on ratings volume (499 vs 3) and update cadence (daily vs every 2 days). Focus Cat's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlockRot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Focus Cat sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BlockRot holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlockRot has 499 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of BlockRot's written reviews are positive against 100% of Focus Cat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BlockRot ships an update daily, Focus Cat every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
