# BlockRot vs Unhook

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Unhook at 100% against BlockRot's 62%. Unhook also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). BlockRot's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (daily vs every 10 days). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlockRot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Unhook sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Unhook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlockRot has 387 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 62% of BlockRot's written reviews are positive against 100% of Unhook's.

BlockRot ships an update daily, Unhook every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
