# SnapScript vs Auto Captions

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: Auto Captions at 18.0 against SnapScript's 26.0. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnapScript sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year and Auto Captions sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SnapScript ships an update weekly, Auto Captions every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
