About

Anima

Anima is a stop motion studio for your child. Prop up the phone, put a toy on the table, move it a little and take a picture. Move it again, take another. The last picture stays on the screen like a ghost, so a child can see exactly how far the toy went before pressing the button again. Everything is made on the device, and nothing ever leaves it. THE GHOST IS THE WHOLE TRICK The last picture sits over the live view at whatever opacity suits the shot. Put the toy a little past its ghost and take the next one. That one idea turns eight random photos into an animation, and a child understands it in about a minute. PICTURES THAT MATCH EACH OTHER A picture is taken from the live video, so it is silent, instant, and processed exactly the way the one before it was. Focus, exposure and white balance lock after a single pass, which is what keeps the light from flickering between frames. There is a grid for lining things up, a countdown timer, and the volume button takes a picture without anyone touching the phone. WIDE OR TALL, DECIDED ONCE Every new film asks wide or tall. The capture screen then holds that shape for the whole film, even if the propped up phone leans, so the frames all match. PLAY IT BACK, THEN FIX IT Watch at 2, 4, 8, 12 or 24 pictures a second. In the strip, drag a picture to move it, hold one so it lasts two, four or eight times longer, and throw away the one where a hand got in the way. A pause is just a picture held, and pauses are how children tell a story. THEIR VOICE OVER THEIR FILM Record a voiceover while the film plays, then tap in up to eight sound effects at the moment each one happens: pop, boing, whoosh, ding, bonk, zap, splash and tada. Add a title card at the front and The End at the back, in six looks. A GREEN SHEET BECOMES ANYWHERE Film in front of a green or blue sheet and the sheet turns into a backdrop: sky, night, sunset, ocean, sunrise or meadow. A REAL VIDEO AT THE END Export is a real video file at full quality with no watermark. Save it to Photos or send it to the family. FOR GROWN UPS Several children, each with their own films. The parent area opens after holding the gear for two seconds and holds profiles, how much space the films use, and restore purchase. NO ACCOUNT. NO SERVER. NO TRACKING. Anima works entirely offline and makes no network calls at all. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing is uploaded and no data is collected. The camera is used only to take the pictures of the film and the microphone only for the voiceover, and both stay on the device. A film leaves the device only when a grown up shares the video. ONE TIME PURCHASE Profiles, films without a limit, pictures without a limit, every capture tool, playback at every speed, the voiceover and three full quality exports are free forever. A child's films are their own work and are never locked or watermarked. A single purchase adds unlimited exports, the title cards, the sound effect bank, export at 24 frames a second and the green screen backdrops. Family Sharing is supported. No subscription. No ads. English and Spanish. Ages 4 and up. Questions: info@kidsecuregames.com
