# Flight Metrics vs Flightrax

The clearest difference is update cadence: Flightrax at every 5 days against Flight Metrics's every 10 days. Flight Metrics's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight Metrics sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Flightrax sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flight Metrics ships an update every 10 days, Flightrax every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
