# ProtectShield vs Vmess VPN

The clearest difference is update cadence: ProtectShield at every 4 days against Vmess VPN's fortnightly. Vmess VPN's advantage is device support (4 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ProtectShield sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Vmess VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
