# Folio vs Bive

The clearest difference is ads: Bive at none against Folio's shown. Bive also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.2). Folio's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Folio sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Bive sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Folio ships an update every 5 days, Bive every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
