# f/oss vs Light Meter EV

The clearest difference is update cadence: f/oss at every 6 days against Light Meter EV's every 3 weeks. Light Meter EV's advantage is iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. f/oss sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Light Meter EV sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

f/oss ships an update every 6 days, Light Meter EV every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
