# Screen Time Control vs Forge

The clearest difference is ads: Screen Time Control at none against Forge's shown. Forge's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Time Control sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month and Forge sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Time Control ships an update every 3 weeks, Forge every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
