# Pengword vs EngClass

The clearest difference is ads: EngClass at none against Pengword's shown. EngClass also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pengword sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and EngClass sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pengword ships an update every 2 weeks, EngClass every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
