# EmailChat vs alt.chat

The clearest difference is update cadence: alt.chat at every 2 days against EmailChat's monthly. alt.chat also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EmailChat ships an update monthly, alt.chat every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 20, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
