# Guitar Visualizer vs Guitar triads

The clearest difference is monetization model: Guitar triads at freemium against Guitar Visualizer's subscription. Guitar triads also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Guitar Visualizer's advantage is ratings volume (35 vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guitar Visualizer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and Guitar triads sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Guitar triads holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guitar Visualizer has 35 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Guitar Visualizer ships an update every 6 weeks, Guitar triads fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
