# Release vs Somarae

The clearest difference is update cadence: Release at every 6 days against Somarae's fortnightly. Release also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Release ships an update every 6 days, Somarae fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
