# Nous vs Moth

The clearest difference is rating: Nous at 5.0 against Moth's 4.6. Nous also leads on device support (3 vs 1). Moth's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nous sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Moth sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nous holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Moth has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Nous ships an update weekly, Moth every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
