# Ember vs Etched

The clearest difference is update cadence: Etched at every 2 days against Ember's every 2 weeks. Etched also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ember sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Etched sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ember ships an update every 2 weeks, Etched every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
