# MatchDay vs SocRef

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: SocRef at 16.0 against MatchDay's 18.2. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MatchDay sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SocRef sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MatchDay ships an update every 4 weeks, SocRef every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
