# BoringNote vs Clipex

The clearest difference is monetization model: BoringNote at free against Clipex's freemium. BoringNote also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BoringNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Clipex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BoringNote ships an update every 5 days, Clipex every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
