# Nova vs PlacePod

The clearest difference is update cadence: PlacePod at fortnightly against Nova's every 2 months. Nova's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nova sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PlacePod sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nova ships an update every 2 months, PlacePod fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
