# Rootwise vs 24 Carrot

The clearest difference is monetization model: Rootwise at freemium against 24 Carrot's subscription. Rootwise also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.2). 24 Carrot's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rootwise sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $8.99 per month and 24 Carrot sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Rootwise against 5.0 for 24 Carrot. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 24 Carrot has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Rootwise ships an update weekly, 24 Carrot every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
